Mooring and Unmooring
We moor and unmoor vessels ranging from 1,000 to 45,000 gross tons (and larger if required) on a 24/7 basis. Operations require expert coordination and planning that comes from our years of experience. We are always on standby with one of our duty controllers available on the phone at any time.
Oporto is our converted barge – complete with a crane – that can carry 27 large Euro wheelie bins, each with a capacity of 1,100 litres. We also have capacity in other barges for construction waste in volume. An Environmental Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note is completed for every waste collection.
We keep the waste enclosed for environmental reasons and collect, transport and dispose for 100% recycling (zero landfill). Wheelie bins and colour-coded bags can be supplied free of charge, just discuss your needs with our 24/7 coordinations office. Copies of our waste transfer documentation are available on request.
We are pleased to give advice or information about working on the River Thames. We can answer questions on anything from details of berths, jetties and wharves to the types of vessels required for a particular project. If you have a question, do get in touch.
We have supplied safety boats from Shoeburyness to Battersea for many projects. Examples include vessels for surveying, painting and scaffolding. We have been the nominated safety boat supplier at the Dartford Crossing since it opened in 1991 and were involved during its construction. Our boats are fully equipped with qualified boatmasters and crew.
Thamesmeer and Thameside are two small craft tugs that are useful where larger tugs may be restricted. These tugs and some of our other vessels have also been used for filming for television.
